Originally from Invercargill, Gabby completed her studies at Otago University before moving to Central Otago where she completed her Chartered Accounting qualifications while working in an accounting firm.

Throughout her time in the public practice, Gabby has been involved in supporting a wide range of businesses and industries, specifically those in the construction and property development sectors.

Tim Coughlan

Tim joined the firm as a director in 2020.  He is based in Alexandra but will be available to support businesses throughout the wider Central Otago region.

Born and bred in Invercargill, Tim obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting and Economics) from Otago University before starting his career out with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Tim spent the last thirteen years in corporate banking, seven of which in London assisting businesses to achieve their long-term goals. Tim’s arrival brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to the Affleck O’Meara team with regards to cash flow management, debt advisory/restructuring and governance. 

Tim is married to Kelly and the have two young daughters, which they are thankful for the opportunity to bring them up in Central Otago.

For many of us 31 March 2019 is our balance date year end. Some things must be done to finalise the tax requirements of 2018 and to make sure we are ready for 2019 before year end. David Crossan

David Crossan is our newest Director, he is based in our Cromwell branch, having lived in the area for the past three years with his wife Christina and their three children.

Prior to joining Affleck O’Meara, he held numerous senior finance positions in both Switzerland and the United Kingdom specialising in Joint Ventures for major Oil & Gas Companies.

Upon his return to New Zealand he joined one of Central Otago’s largest wine producers as their CFO, which he successfully facilitated the sale of.

Nathan Keil

A born and bred Southlander, Queenstown is now home for Nathan, his wife Abby and their young son.

Dean was the original founder of Affleck Accountancy which has morphed over the years to become the Affleck O’Meara we all know.

Born and bred in the South Island and living in Cromwell with his family, Dean has strong roots in the community.

 Dean is now a Consultant to the Affleck O’Meara team, working with just a few clients and leaving him more time to focus on his other interests.

Bjorn de Nijs

Bjorn joined the firm in 2014 and is based in Queenstown. Originally from the Netherlands he settled in Queenstown in 2007. He’s held various accounting roles in a wide variety of businesses in the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand and has worked in public practice since 2008. His practical knowledge is invaluable for his clients. Bjorn is married to Carla and they have 2 young children. Some of his areas of expertise are:

Richie O’Meara

Richie joined the firm in 2012 and is based in Queenstown. Richie has a varied background including working as a CFO of a multi-national tourism business and holding senior finance roles at several large media organisations in London. Originally Richie worked for a KPMG affiliate Chartered Accounting firm in NZ. Hailing from rural Southland, Richie is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters Degree in International Applied Finance.
